Speaking of Jeffy's understanding of Thailand when he was a child, it is a well-known floating market! Sitting on a boat and visiting the market, you don’t have to worry about walking to the market if you have a boat on it. Listening to the sounds of selling and bargaining mixed in various languages, it feels super interesting. This time I finally have the opportunity to experience it myself~ This article mainly records the floating market. (Dannoen Sadok and Amphawa) and the Maeklong Railway Market one-day itinerary and transportation methods are not far from Bangkok, and it is also suitable for a day trip!

Buffet in Bangkok, Thailand|Itinerary and transportation
We chose the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, and by the way, we played the surrounding Maeklong Railway Market and Amphawa Floating Market. The distance between the attractions is very close, you can take a tuk-tuk or a taxi to arrive, which is very suitable for arranging together. However, these attractions are far from downtown Bangkok, about a two-hour drive, and can be reached in the following ways:
- buy one day itinerary
Travel companies will sell one-day itineraries for these places, which can also be booked in advance in Taiwan. It usually includes Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, Maeklong Railway Market, and Amphawa Floating Market. It is a combination of lazy bags. If there is no time to plan, you can buy it directly. It is convenient to have a special person to arrange transportation. Do your homework!
- Chartered car (or taxi)
The advantage is that it is fast and convenient, and has a high degree of freedom, but it is more expensive. The price of a car is at least 1,000 yuan, and it is more cost-effective for people.
- By bus
We chose to go in this way. The price of the bus is about 70 baht per person, which is much cheaper. The downside is that you have to go to the South Bus Station (Sai Tai Mai) first, which is a short walk from the city. We took a taxi from Khao San Road. It cost about 100 baht to buy tickets on the spot at the South Bus Station. It took about two hours to drive to Damnoen Saduak.

This day, you need to get up very early to pull the car, and the bus is quite comfortable and you can take a nap. Immediately after arriving at Dannen Sadow, we started looking for our boat. Here we encountered a boat with an exaggerated price (obviously, we were charged a high price for tourists). Later, we joined the boat with an Australian couple who were on the same bus. There was a slight bargain, and the price was normal. One person About 150 baht - 200 baht.
After entering the floating market, there is usually a situation of "clogging the boat". The sun is hot on this day, it is really super stuffy and super dry! Be sure to drink water all the time, and drink it whenever you think of it, so as not to suffer from heat stroke and spoil the spirit of traveling. Girls who are afraid of the sun can also wear hats. When we see this weather, we are very glad that our boat has a canvas for sunshade, otherwise it will really dry up in the sun?
If you see a store you like while shopping, you can buy it directly. Vendors will also keep selling, there are various languages on the scene, and there are many vendors who can speak Chinese are very cute. If the vendor you want to buy is too far away, don't worry, just tell the boatman, and the boatman will help you buy it. At this time, there will be a strange scene where people from each boat start passing food and change (a solitaire concept). In addition, it should be noted that during the parade of the boat, water often splashes. You can refer to the water quality of the picture, and be sure to protect the food in your hands!

The next stop we took the bus to Maeklong Railway Market. Maeklong Railway Market, as the name suggests, is a market on the railway. When the train is about to pass, the vendors on both sides of the railway track will quickly (in about a minute) pack up to the width that the train can pass, and tourists also enter the shops and wait for the train to pass. After the train passed, the shops and vendors hurried out again, returning to the original chaotic market, as if nothing had happened.
Come here to see how the train keeps businesses and tourists busy. We stopped by for lunch and waited for the train to pass the market. One of Allie's favorite stores also listed the time of the train.
Outbound: 06:20, 09:00, 11:30, 15:30 / Inbound: 08:30, 11:10, 14:30, 17:40
The railway market sells everything. The front is accessories, clothes, restaurants, and souvenirs, while the back is like a traditional vegetable market, where raw meat, green vegetables, and all kinds of unseen foods are sold. Because it is a vegetable market, the smell is not good, but we are also very comfortable visiting various attractions. It is recommended to stay here for about one to two hours, and leisurely visit the ancient market and various souvenir shops.

Buffet in Bangkok, Thailand|Amphawa Floating Market
Then we came to Amphawa Floating Market. Due to the close distance, we took a tuk-tuk directly (the fare was about 100 baht). Compared with the commercialization of Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, Amphawa Floating Market The market is more like a market where the locals go.
In addition, the way of shopping in Amphawa is also different from that of Damnoen Saduak. As mentioned above, Damnoen Saduak mostly enters the floating market by means of a hand-cranked boat. There are many boats, and the waterways are winding and winding. It's small, giving it a very crowded and lively feeling. Amphawa, on the other hand, walks on both sides of the river bank, strolls around the merchants on the river bank, and enjoys the scenery of the river. On the same day, we also saw boats cruising the river, but we had already taken the boat of Damnoen Sato, so we did not take the boat to swim the river again.
However, it should be noted that the Amphawa Floating Market is not open from Monday to Thursday, and the more active time on Friday is probably in the evening and evening. We ranked it as the last attraction before returning to Bangkok. We arrived at the Amphawa Floating Market at about 3:00 pm. On the way to the road, the surrounding shops were already lively, but many businesses by the river were slowly opening their stores. And because I wanted to go back to the Asiatique Riverside Night Market that night, I didn't stay here for too long. If you have enough time, you can also join the firefly cruise at night!
The above is our one-day tour of the floating market. Although the above attractions are far from Bangkok, the market here is really full of strong Thai flavor. When you come to Thailand, you have to find a day to visit the floating market and experience the fun of selling and bargaining.
